Detailed explanation of English vocabulary and use of western tableware

There are many types and specifications of porcelain tableware. Porcelain of different textures, colors and patterns can be combined with the grades and specifications of the restaurant. Therefore, when ordering porcelain tableware, many catering companies often print the logo or emblem of the restaurant on it to show a high standard.

1. The selection principle of porcelain tableware
One of the more commonly used porcelain is bone china, which is a high-quality, hard, and expensive porcelain with patterns painted on the inside of the glaze. Bone China for hotels can be thickened and customized. When choosing porcelain tableware, the following points should be considered:

(1) All porcelain tableware must have a complete glaze layer to ensure its service life.
(2) There should be a service line on the side of the bowl and plate, which is not only convenient for the kitchen to grasp the plate, but also convenient for the waiter to operate.
(3) Check whether the pattern on the porcelain is under the glaze or above, ideally it is fired inside, which requires one more process of glazing and firing, and the pattern outside the glaze will soon peel off and lose its luster. Although porcelain with patterns fired in the glaze is more expensive, it lasts a long time.

1. Characteristics of glass tableware

Glass decoration techniques mainly include printing, decals, painted flowers, spray flowers, grinding flowers, engraved flowers and so on. According to the characteristics of the decoration style, there are six types of glass: opal glass, frosted glass, laminated glass, brushed glass and crystal glass. High-quality glass is often used to make tableware. It is shaped by a special process. It is different from ordinary glass in that it has good transparency and whiteness, and it hardly shows color in sunlight. The tableware made by it is as dazzling as crystal, and the knocking is as crisp and pleasant as metal, showing higher grade and special effect. High-end western restaurants and high-end banquets often use glass cups made of crystal.
